Tactinho
A daily football decision game. Every day, one frozen match situation is shown as an anonymised tactical view, and you get five seconds to pick between three options. The answer — what the professional actually did, and what the possession value model says — is only revealed the next morning, which leaves the whole day for an argument in which nobody knows who is right.
What sets it apart
- Five seconds to decide, timed on the server — no way to cheat yourself out of it
- The answer waits until seven the next morning: a full day of arguing in the dark
- One message per player per situation — you convince, you don't reply
- Anonymised situations: dots, arrows, a minute, a score. No names, no clubs, no footage
- A training mode over thousands of situations, to work on one kind of decision
How situations are chosen
Decision moments are detected automatically in openly licensed match data, then every option is valued by a possession model: probability of success multiplied by the value of what you get. Only situations where the options hold up against each other are kept — a position where one answer crushes the other two teaches nothing.
Every situation is reviewed by a human before publication, and the data sources are credited inside the app.
